Green Split Pea Soup Recipe

Ingredients

1 pound bag (16 oz.) of Goya "green split peas"
   (other brands would also work)

2 Tbsp olive oil
½ stick of butter
10 cups of water

1 tsp salt
2 stalks of celery

Directions  

Wash the split peas with filtered water.

Put them in a large pot for cooking, with all of the ingredients together.

Let it boil for about 2 hours.

Then finally put it on a low simmering heat for about another 2 or 3 hours, until the peas are like a cream.
